Question

How can one reconcile between the material and the spiritual self? If one is spiritually satisfied with God, can the material dissatisfaction effect his spiritual relationship with God?

Note that by material, I don't just mean financial sustenance, but all desires other than those related to God, like food, clothing, shelter, sex, love, companionship, etc.

If they are unsatisfied to the extent that the human remains disturbed, will this effect his otherwise sound relation with God? And if it does, should one take appropriate measures to satisfy those needs so that material dissatisfaction does not come in the way of his spiritual satisfaction?
