Question

At our university, we hold weekly meetings within our Islamic Society on how to spread the word of Islam to students on campus and discuss how to organise and publicise events such as lectures and other social gatherings. Both brothers and sisters dress appropriately, most sisters wear a hijab. Usually we have about 5 brothers and 5 sisters at each meeting, although occasionally, due to study commitments, there may only be 1 sister and a few brothers (and vice-versa). Is it permissible to hold such meetings considering there will be communication between the brothers and sisters even though it is for dawah purposes? And if not, how do you suggest we run our Islamic Society as there needs to be some sort of co-ordination between the genders.
