Question

We have a cat that has the habit of sitting in front of us, rubbing against us, or sits on our lap when we make salat. Someone told me that cat hair is najis- is this true and must we re-do our salat?

Answer

In the Hanafi school, cat hair is tahir. [For details of the Shafi`i position, search the Shafi`i fiqh archives at
