Tasbih prayer an innovation?

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

There is long-standing disagreement as to whether the Tasbih prayer is soundly-established or not. The majority of the fuqaha and hadith masters have considered it a recommended prayer. Imam Muhammad Murtada al-Zabidi has a very detailed discussion of the matter, with careful study of the many hadiths and narrations related to the Tasbih prayer in his Commentary on Imam Ghazali's Ihya' Ulum al-Din. His conclusion, like that of many others, was that it is soundly-established.

And Allah alone gives success.
