Question

I am so lazy in school, life, and religion. I am so lazy. I am not depressed or anything I am just SO LAZY. I always put things off until the last minute and I am even too lazy to make myself coffee in the morning. How do I get non-lazy according to the Sunnah. This is a BIG PROBLEM IN LIFE.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, with blessings and peace on the Messenger of Allah

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

One needs to have goals in life--both in relation to one's worldly life and one's religious life. If one realizes what one's goals are, and makes a high intention in pursuing, then one is much more likely to find the resolve and determination to take the means needed to succeed.

It helps to write down these goals, and to review them regularly, and to discuss them with those successful (on the worldly plane, and on the religious plane).

With this, one should consider whose company one is keeping. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reminded us that, "A person is on the way of their close friends. So let each of you look carefully as to whom you take as a close friend." [Ahmad and Abu Dawud; a sound hadith]

And Allah alone gives success.
