Question

I was wondering how Muslims approach the issue of life on other planets (the possibility), and how our faith would deal, specifically, with intelligent life.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, with blessings and peace on the Messenger of Allah

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

It is in itself possible for there to be life in other planets, and there is nothing decisive in the Qur'an and Sunna to affirm that there isn't or can't be life on other planets.

However, it is a well-established principle that, "Affirming possibility doesn't entail establishing occurrence."

And Allah alone gives success. Faraz Rabbani
