Question:   Have the fuqaha conveyed any legal rulings concerning the prayer: "radiya L-lahu 'anhu" being said when the person mentioned is not a companion (may Allah be well pleased with them all)?

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

Answer(wording has been edited):

It is recommended to say “radiya Llahu `anhu” (Allah be pleased with him) after mentioning a companion (sahabi), follower (tabi`i), scholar, or righteous person (al-Majmu`, 6:156 (edition?)).
