I wear a silver ring that has ayat al-kursi inscribed on it. Do I have to take it off before entering the toilet?
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate
It is not obligatory to remove the ring before entering the toilet but it is sunna to do so. [Removing the ring is not obligatory] because bringing a copy of the Qur'an, something on which Allah's name has been written, or something on which a venerated name has been written into the toilet is disliked, not forbidden. If one does enter [the toilet] with such [a ring], it is recommended for him to conceal it by, for example, putting the place of inscription on the ring to the inside of the palm and then closing one's hand over it.
