when praying alone in the night, I feel fear, and think that jinns would be there along with me, and because of this sometimes my concentration on prayer goes. Please do tell me how to overcome by this. |
It is difficult to concentrate in salat from beginning to end as this takes
time to achieve. However, one should work on this step by step and build on
one’s gains.
Jinns are among the creatures Allah created. Allah created mankind, angels,
jinn, animals, plants and other things. Jinns have some qualities like human
beings. These qualities are intellect, discrimination, freedom and the power
to choose between right and wrong, true and false and good and bad. Iblis is
a member of the jinn-kind. He was the chief of all the human beings. Similarly,
Adam is the father of all the jinns.
There are two types of jinns; believing and satanic ones in different forms
and shapes. Surah Jinn proves that a group of jinns went to listen to the recitation
of the Qur’an. After listening to the beautiful Qur’an they had accepted Muhammad
(Allah bless him and give him peace) as a prophet and messenger. Immediately
they went to their tribe and people and invited them to accept the message of
Islam. It is mentioned in a hadith reported in Abdur Razzaq from the authority
of Salman (Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless
him and give him peace) said, ‘when a man is in a place, and the time of salat
is close, he should do wudhu. If he does not find water, he should do tayammum.
If he starts praying, two angels stand with him and if he gives Iqamah and Adhan
a group of Allah prays performs with him such that one cannot see the actual
number present.’
We come to know from the above that one should not have fear if there is presence
of jinn, as they are believing jinns who are attending the prayer.
