Is it permissible to be completely naked during sexual intercourse?

I pray you are well and in the best of health and iman.

One and one's spouse may be completely naked during intercourse; however, our beloved Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, has said "If a man wants to be with his wife, let him cover himself because if he does not, the angels [of mercy] get shy and leave shaytan free to approach them" (Tirmidhi, 2800), in other words, the proper Islamic etiquette is that the couple should cover themselves with a sheet or something. And Allah alone gives success.
