Question

If a woman has an orgasm by stimulating the clitorous through tightening and relaxing the muscles of the thighs and viginia does this constitute masturbation?

Answer

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

Any means of personal sexual stimulation--whether with touching or without (such as actively thinking about sexual matters)--is impermissible, and would be a form of masturbation. [ Khadimi/Birgivi, al-Bariqa al-Mahmudiyya Sharh al-Tariqa al-Muhammadiyya; Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar ]

The basis of the prohibition of masturbation--according to all four schools of Sunni Islam--is Allah's description of believers as being those, "... Who protect their private parts, except from their spouses..." [َQur'an] This establishes that the only permissible means of seeking to fulfill one's sexual desires is with one's spouse.َ

And Allah alone gives success.
