Question

When is it obligatory upon the parents to get their young daughter to wear hijab?

Answer

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

When the daughter reaches an age where she would normally be considered desirable to people of sound disposition, it becomes necessary for her guardian to order her to cover properly (hijab) in front of men who are not immediately related to her, even if she has not reached puberty. This is because at such an age she is legally akin to the one who has reached puberty.
