Question

When I was few months old my mothers sister breastfed me once, I’m a female age 22 now. My question is my aunt has 4 sons and her youngest son is as same age as mine, is my nikkah permissible with any of those four sons? Why I’m asking this question is because I wear hijab and I don’t know if I need to wear it in front of them.

Answer

Al-Salam `Alaykum

Nikah is not permissible with the four sons of your aunt as they are your Rada'i brothers since you breastfed from their mother. Thus they are your maharim and you are not required by the Shari`a to observe hijab before them. However it must be remembered that if fitna exists and there is a fear of them or you falling into sin you will be required to observe hijab from them. As a precaution, I feel that hijab should be observed.
