Question

I know that Christian and Jewish women can marry Muslim men. Is it a must for the Christian woman to convert before they can perform nikah? And will it be a valid nikah if she does not convert?

Answer

In the Name of Allah.

Praise be to Allah. May His peace and blessings shower upon our beloved Messenger.

Muslim men are allowed to marry Jewish and Christian women provided that they affirm the oneness of Allah, believe in a recognized scripture and prophet, and are chaste.

If these conditions are met, the marriage is valid.

Conversion to Islam is not a requirement for the validity of the marriage.

And Allah knows best.
