In which cases is a woman's voice considered awrah??

Walaikum assalam,

A woman’s voice is not awrah in the sense that it is something that cannot be manifested in front of strange men. However, the basis of gender relations in Islam is modesty, shyness, adab, and sticking to conservative limits. As such, young men and women should not interact or converse without a worldly or religious need, and when a need exists, the proper Islamic manners of talk, lowering one’s glance, and modesty must be kept.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “None of you believes until his desires accord to that which I came with.” As such, we must shun every habit, desire, and way that differs from that of the Beloved of Allah.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani.
