Is it permissible to touch a copy of the quran after wearing gloves if not in a state of wudu?

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

It is prohibitively disliked and sinful to touch the Qur'an with anything one is wearing when not in a state of wudu. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
